  • Wouldn’t nuclear or other renewable energy sources be a better option?

    Renewable energy is recognised as part of the UK’s energy mix, along with other generating technologies such as nuclear and gas. Biomass energy is acknowledged as being an important contributor to UK renewable energy with the capacity to generate a large amount of clean electricity.

    It is important that appropriately sited renewable energy projects are approved and we use a combination of different renewable energies in the UK as 22.5GW of the current 76GW of energy production facilities will be shut down by 2020.

  • Are there any other biomass from straw plants in the UK?

    Other straw-fuelled plants in the UK include:

    • Sleaford REP (40MW) - Planning permission granted
    • Ely, Cambridgeshire: Elean Business Park (38MW)
