How many people would be employed?
It is expected the plant will provide up to 36 permanent jobs when operational; plus a further 50 jobs in fuel transportation and a maximum of 250 jobs each day during construction. Where possible, the plant will also use local companies for its contracts, such as routine maintenance.
The biomass plant would help to unlock Breckland Council’s plans to double to current 30ha of business and light industry at Snetterton Heath by providing the grid connection required, leading to between 500 and 1,500 jobs by 2021 for the Snetterton Heath employment area.
